Nikon CoolPix L820

How does one take pictures nowadays? Simple answer, ON YOUR PHONE!  Either a simple slim-and-flip phone, or a smartphone camera with smart filters to beautify the image right before you take a shot. While this is all true, it's also true that most cameras will shoot a picture anywhere between 5 to 8 MP (MegaPixels). This means that it will not look make headlines. It is true that the newer NOKIA LUMIA 1020 has a 48 MP lens, the trade off is a slower camera shot.

So for that reason, today I will be reviewing a traditional camera.

Please allow me to introduce,........

NIKON COOLPIX L820

Ok, well I guess I shouldn't stress too much about this camera.
This is just an average camera used by the average consumer looking for a good shot. It is a very simple point-and-shot camera with amazing features considering its purpose.
Unlike most camera phones, this camera has a 16 MP zoom lens. This makes it average because top-grade professional cameras have a well-designed and dedicated 45 to 60 MP zoom lens, if not more.
However, this camera still outshines the competition for the consumer market. While the main star here is the 30x zoom lens. Making it possible to snap a photo at a far distance. I once took a photo of a barn that is almost 3 miles from my apartment (I live in a rural apartment).

And as if that wasn't enough, I also snapped a shot a few feet from it, ......

In addition, some time ago, I used this very camera for a so-called "trailer" of a  local Halloween Store in 2013.

This camera also features image stabilization, full 1080p resolution, and amazing 3D features.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is, even though this is an average camera, it creates a possible means of creativity. Low-light adapting, 30X zoom lens, 3D mode, smart portrait, and full 1080p support. Combined makes a great device ready for a means of capturing the great momentos that were meant to be remembered for generations.

Let me know what you think in the comments below,

until next time,

Hello All!

Hello, everyone! My name is Edward Wessels. I am a student at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) majoring in Information Computer Studies (ICS), hopefully graduating in May of 2014. This blog is about all thing tech. Either it is a Mac computer review, or a simple point-and-shoot camera review. If you have an idea, please post.
I will be post another update soon reviewing a nice device that has reminded me of some old habits I used to do in junior high and high school (good habits).

Until then, please share your thoughts on the blog graphics and looks. I will consider all options.
